How we fit you to a frame
When customers ask for assistance for frame fit, the first thing we
do is ask them to do is to take a couple of measurements from a bike that
they find comfortable.
Those two measurements are shown in the drawing below. We call the dimension in red the saddle-height. It's the distance from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the saddle. We call the dimension in blue the compartment. It's the distance from the center saddle to the intersection of the stem and bars. Most people have their saddle set to a comfortable height. So there's not a lot you have to do except find a bike that's comfortable and measure it. For the -compartment- we ask people to give us this measurement -AND- their estimation of how they would modify the position of their bars, meaning how far and in which direction they would move their bars if they chose to. ![]() |
